Up untill this point I've always used the Sharp Rom that came w/ my 5600. I'm looking to switch to another Rom. OZ's Website would lead one to believe that it can't be installed on the 5600 (aside from the new test release 3.3.5) Has anyone else had success w/ OZ on the 5600? Any recommendations? If the stable releases can not be loaded on the 5600, any recommendations for a good alternative?

I've just installed OZ 3.3.5 on my 5600. However, there's no GUI, I've tried loading Opie via: /etc/init.d/opie start Still no luck, I get "Starting Opie-login with syslog logging" and then another prompt. Any Suggestions? I'll keep reading in the mean time....

Look at what logview (or logread, something like that) tells you after opie fails to start.

All it said was "Starting Opie-login with syslog logging" and returned me to the command prompt. I ended up going with OZ3.3.6pre1 poodle. I tried to get 3.3.5 to work for a while and didn't have any luck. 3.3.6pre1 works and it's beautiful!
Anyone else with a 5600 who would like to run OZ you can get it here: http://openzaurus.org/official/experimenta...dle/3.3.6-pre1/ Also read this thread: http://www.zaurususergroup.com/index.php?n...ght=sucess+5600 Thanks for trying to help me out lardman! |
