I was just about to post that! I don't need 40GB, though. I have barely used 1 on my SD and MD combined currently.

So far as I can tell, they're just normal CF microdrives with a much larger capacity, so I would assume they would work. The huge solid-state cards work, so I don't think the capacity would be an issue.

According to Samsung's news release, this new Spinpoint A1 measures 42.8 x 36.4 x 5.0 mm, whereas the official datasheet from Hitachi gives this dimensions for the microdrives: 40 x 30 x 5.0 mm
Will it fit in the Z? |

For me, a 40gb SD would be more useful as I need the CF slot for wifi. But then again, I've not been using wifi on my Z for quite awhile.

According to wikipedia, the standard dimensions for the CF Type II cards are 43×36×5 mm, thus making these microdrives compatible with CF Type II slots (what the Zaurii have). I was wondering if the connectors are compatible, though. Meaning, will we be able to use these? Power consumption and all that are also a concern. |
