Has anyone ever found a good battery replacement for the SL-5000/5500? I can buy a new battery, but am really interested in trying something else. I've noticed that I definitely can't use some of the camera batteries, and that I can't use the battery from the 5600.
Anyone with an idea will be very much appreciated! As it is, I'm going to walk to the camera store today/tonight and see if we can come up with anything similar. But your help would be wonderful! |

You probably missed this since you were looking in the wrong forum appearently:
http://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=8023 1200mAh 3.7Vol cell for $3.75, if you're willing to solder. Check to make sure the Sl-5500 has built-in charge protection, as this battery doesn't. I think it does, but it's better to be safe than sorry. |

sorry for my poor english, I am from Russia.
I am using battery EBL-08 (from Zaurus SL-C860), with my SL-5500. It works fine, but I can't find any cover, to close it, and battery works without cover. What do you think about that? 950mAh standart battery ~ 6th hours mp3 and about 2 hours with full backlite. (4hours minimal backlite) 1700mAh from SL-C760/860 ~ more than 10 hours, and ~ 4hours with full backlite. I'll be glad to find cover, and my SL-5500 will be fine replace of SL-5600... But my dream is SL-6000... |
