This is the most frustrating thing I've ever seen. I put it in my cart, it shows up, then when I go to check out, my cart is empty. What's going on with this?

After you have paid, Softmaker will email you direct with the links and id for the software.

For the impatient be warned, it took about 12 hours in my case.

I wonder if this is an indication that a new version of textmaker for zaurus is in the works.

It is. If you study the website carefully there is a hint that upgrading to Textmaker 2006 for Zaurus will be 34.00 Euro or, if you purchased the last version after 2005-07-01, 10 Euro.

I don't see how that is a clue that a "TextMaker for Zaurus 2006" is coming out. These are prices for a TextMaker for Windows/Zaurus bundle, and you'll notice that they only mention upgrading the Windows version.

Given how little support they have given for TextMaker in the last few years and the relatively small user base the Zaurus has, I would be very surprised if they released a new version of TextMaker for the Zaurus. That said, I would almost certainly upgrade if they did do it.

They will do. I talked to them directly a week ago and they said they definitely will. But they didn't say when. From my experience with Softmaker I wouldn't expect it to happen before July or so, but probably still this year (otherwise it wouldn't make sense to call it Textmaker 2006).
