Hello
Several members have asked me to ban/remove muesli posts for trolling/not respecting the topic. Is everyone here ok with that? If you are, I'll post a final reply then remove them. Thanks, Guylhem |

Please do. In fact, if you could ban him from posting to that topic that would be even nicer. Once you do that, feel free to remove my replies to him too, to keep the forum clean.

Sorry, I would have responded sooner but I was in interviews all day Anyway, meusli321 has obviously said some inflammatory things which are quite possibly completely unfounded. He shouldn't have hijacked your guylhem rom thread, which is why I split his posts and the various responses into a seperate thread. I would really prefer to not delete posts unless they are *really* bad, or spam or something. For example, if someone posted "offroadgeek is a totaly fucking idiot" is bad (wait, that's partially true |

moving them is fine by me, I guess. I think his intent was malicious and his assertions false. I'm not sure that this can be conclusively demonstrated, nor am I sure that such demostration is worth persuing. His assertions seem to have been false. his intent might be harder to establish. At any rate, since his right to speech not demonstrated to have been libelous must also be protected, it is probably the easiest (and since the whole thing isn't worth much touble) best solution.

QUOTE(guylhem @ May 16 2005, 10:12 AM) Several members have asked me to ban/remove muesli posts for trolling/not respecting the topic. Is everyone here ok with that? I'm not really comfortable with it either. Trolling is bad; trolls should be admonished, and either: their trolling should cease, or their ability to harm people with their trolls curtailed, but there are a few pragmatic problems. Trolling is a natural human behaviour; for some it's compulsive and unhealthy, for the rest of us trolls it's a needed opportunity to release steam. The line between the two is not always clear- hence even good little trolls like me, More significantly, this remains an open forum where dissemination of accurate and useful information is a great premium. Data on the function of Zauruses is rare and difficult to come by, so *any* source of input is held more valuable than might otherwise be. The museli posts seem to be total bunk, but it was not obvious until delving deeper. I'm grateful for the existence of a forum where GPL violations can be reported, as much as I am grateful that this was a false alarm, and guylhem entirely innocent. I'm glad that ORG sees value in preserving these posts, even as they are moved to a more appropriate thread. The admin/owners are entitled to enforce any policies they find suitable, but it's heartening to see them in concordance with (what this troll feebly regards as) Freedom. guylhem: I don't use your roms, but thanks for making them! |
