Ok, I've got as far as getting the 5500 Base rootfs package (Apparently there are scripts in it I need to make a rom |shrugs|)

Don't know if that's any use. Currently having to completely recompile my kernel source to get hold of the JFFS2 module that Slackware does NOT come with.

Then, gonna rip apart the Hentges 2.6 dev rom that I've been playing with, and do the same on my Sharp 1.32 package.

Here's the number one question:

Am I wasting my time?

Not to mention the processing power that would otherwise be spent cracking the default password for OSSIM on the bloody SIM-CD.

If I were you I wouldn't even think about it. It would take months to mimick all the 2.4-embedix kernel interfaces, timings, etc. which Qtopia/Sharp relies on.

Trust me, it isn't worth it.

I've given up already.

For some reason, my installation flatly REFUSES to deal with JFFS.

I've tried Modules, including it in kernel, |shrugs|

I've abandoned the attempt until such a time as I can be bothered to upgrade from 2.4.31.

Ah forget it. The OZ guys are better than me at it.
