I've renamed my Japanese study software to JARDS Mobile and released version 1.0. ipk and source is available on my homepage. I invite all interested to try it out and comment on it - it should work equally well on large and small Zauruses. Remember that the package consumes about 10Mb of storage.
rolf: perhaps you can download the source and see if you can compile it for OZ? |

Hello,
I have played with Jards mobile 1.0 for a few days now so I'd thought I'd give my impressions. - Firstly, well done, thanks for a really nice app. - the handwritten recognition is ok, but far behind the one integrated in the zaurus, so was it really necessary? I guess its useful if you've removed the japanese rom. - I love the "add to list" feature!! (and wish zten had it, so I could use it with my epwing dics) Anyway, thank you! |

Hi!
Thanks for trying out the program. The handwriting recognition engine is the same as used in Kanji Nirvana, and you're right that the reason for including it is that many Japanese learners, especially beginners, may not be using the Japanese rom. I'm working on the next release, and bug reports / feature requests are welcome. |
