Hi all
when i restart the z i get to the set time screen and cannot quit this or save. the application freezes. I can get to the home desktop and use other applications but cannot either get back to the set system time screen or remove it. I have tried several cold restarts but with no luck. Do i need to reinstall? thanks keef 860 with cacko 1.23 |

this is quite bizarre, I've thought about your problem for some time but can't imagine how it could happen without some serious corruption in your system
have you done anything strange to the protections in /dev directory? if memory serves right, /dev/rtc is the real time clock device: $ ls -la /dev/rtc* crw-r--r-- 1 root root 10, 135 Jun 8 2005 /dev/rtc |

hi thanks for thinking about the problem!
the system did crash at some point on the set time screen. it did start then behaving oddly - showing the wrong time and then suddenly without me doing anything reverting to the correct time. i think i came to the same conclusion as you that the system was somehow corrupted. i deleted any config files related to time and date but still no luck. i have therefore reflashed the ROM and now it seems ok. keef |
