Trying to get "current" to prolong the useful life of my Z as long as possible and ran into a problem with the wireless connectivity which I cannot resolve.
poodle/PXA250 2.6.11 kernel - OZ 3.5.3 Ambicom WL 1100C-CF wireless card NICID: id=08x800c v1.0.0 (PRISM II (2.5) PCMCIA (SST parallel flash)) PRIID: id=0x0015 v1.1.0 STAID: id=0x001f v1.4.9 (station firmware) Immediate wireless router is an older SMC 7004AWBR (hence broadcasting SSID) and I have numerous other devices connected to it wirelessly and via ethernet just fine. WEP is off and no filtering by MAC going on in SMC while I try to resolve this. With 2.4 kernel, original SHARP ROM and also qtopia 2.1.2 the wireless in this hardware configuration connected and worked. After upgrade, Z sees wireless networks, appears to connect both with manual connection and by finding networks and selecting...light locks on, picks up channel and SSID -- although sometimes SSID is scrambled). Not really connected as it will not get IP address via DHCP and cannot ping wireless router from OPIE console. When I provide Z a manual address (in range, non-dup...), same appearance of connecting but not pingable from network and network not reachable from OPIE console. It seems almost like WEP is on but the Z hasn't the key to connect. I hesitate to try to flash CF card, as I know it works. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. |
