QUOTE(Meanie @ Feb 17 2007, 01:52 PM) QUOTE(Antikx @ Feb 17 2007, 03:48 PM) QUOTE(jfv @ Feb 16 2007, 03:08 PM) But even the 80's are coming back in style. unless it can run netfront and/or opera, i don't think it would be worth upgrading to. besides, the same reason why some people are staying on SharpROM/Cacko and not moving to OPIE applies to this new ROM. Aye! ... I also found myself going back to Cacko on my c1000 (when it was still working) even though the other roms are more updated. I do this for the very simple reason that Cacko is stable and does what it is supposed to do well => it does what I need well! This is much better than having a full linux OS that is somewhat slower and missing on key functions but rich on good to have features. |

Hi,
A couple of questions for snappy, : 1-which browser do you use on your Collie? 2-Is it ok to keep changing distro or can it damage the zaurus. I am not too worried about damaging the sd or cpmpact card, I was thinking about lifespan for the internal memory. Thanks Stef (newbie...) |

To Answer your question stef (note, i understand this thread is OLD but i need something to do!)
the internal flash is good for 400 000 000 write cycles. thats some 2000 flashings.with normal use. Same goes for the SD cards (at least normal ones, "Ultra SD" cards can handle about 800 000 000 000) and the CF Cards (same applies for "ultra" cards) BTW, Hybrid rom came and went... is there a way to stealthily overlay 1.6 or 1.7 on top of 1.5? |
