Hey all... I just got my wisdom teeth out. Thank god none of them were impacted, but still, my mouth is numb as hell. Does anyone have from past experience the knowledge as to when this virtual paralysis wares off? At that point I'll probably be upset it wore off, but right now, this hust feels VERY strange.
And.... I'M HUNGRY!!!!!! -Fish |

I'M HUNGRY!!!!!! -Fish  The profound numbness will wear off over a period of hours. You may see some lingering effects the following day, but it should trail off pretty linearly. As for pain... take the recommended medication, even if you're not sure if you'll need it.. The first sensations you get will probably be soreness, and then some pain; "normal" tactile response will be the last thing you'll recover. Its not unusual to still have some pin-prick pains and soreness and muscle effects a few days later, but they should be sporadic and not continuous. Anaesthesia is funky stuff. |

From having mine pulled and then taking T3 painkillers... be sure to drink lots of water if you are taking painkillers.
I won't go into details but lets just say water=good for maintaining normal body functions.

had mine out some years ago, and it was very unpleasant, they were quite deeply impacted. I felt like crap for a day, jaw ached, despite pain killers, didn't feel like food for two days!
I hope you get better ASAP! |
