That's interesting, if it isn't a hoax.
![]() That unit looks like it's not very photogenic although the rez on those blurry cell phone cam pics aren't helping either. ![]() I still say that slider keyboards suck although not as badly as the thumbboards on the crackberries. ![]() |

As an N800 user, I say "yuck". The camera on the N800, while currently pretty useless, is much better as an adjustable camera, rather than fixed as in the picture. Secondly, why on earth would they put the D-pad on the slider keyboard itself? Much better to put it on the the outer shell as both the N770 and the N800 currently have it. I actually don't mind the slider keyboard as a concept.

Heh, I almost never use the d-pad. Having the camera closer to the screen, is better. After video chatting with my dad in Ohio, he said it looked kinda funny cause I was looking off to the side. It would be better on top of the screen I think. A real keyboard would be great though. Pecking with the stylus is a pain and the full screen keyboard isn't much better when filling out forms or user name and password type stuff.

It looks like a PDA phone than a Internet Tablet.

I'm considering the N800 now that it has skype, but wondered about text input. I'm a touch typist and the idea intrigues me. I love the clamshell keyboard on my 860, compared to my sl5500. Allen |

Allen For an on-screen thumb board, it's not bad and works well for small amounts of text input, but I wouldn't use any kind of on-screen input for anything serious, whether it were a Zaurus, an N800 or any of the UMPCs coming out. For serious input I bought a bluetooth keyboard that works nicely. It folds up to the same size eas the N800 and is pocketable. Do you have a Nokia store near you? If so, I'd encourage you to walk in and try one out. I had looked at both the 770 and the 800 for months online and it wasn't until I actually had one in my hands and played with it that I was convinced enough to buy one. I'm not at all dissapointed, BTW. It's a good little unit and well worth the price in my opinion. R. == |
