looks like it'll be a linux software suite, I guess with a standard set of base apps.
coverage here: at the BBC Engadget: coverage of announcement press release/ Android itself: developers - can't download anything yet very interesting... so, who will be first to have a proper Google linux smartphone - I reckon Motorola because they've already had a few models out which are linux based (using QT as their graphical toolkit), or will OpenMoko produce a usable release first? Will OpenMoko be googlephone compatible? the future will be quite interesting! I've not see |

Don't forget their Internet Tablets run Linux, and a forth-coming model will be Wi-Max enabled. They also seem to be cross-branding their more advanced phones and their tablets by refering to them both as 'N-Series'. |
