looks like it'll be a linux software suite, I guess with a standard set of base apps.
coverage here: at the BBC Engadget: coverage of announcement press release/ Android itself: developers - can't download anything yet very interesting... so, who will be first to have a proper Google linux smartphone - I reckon Motorola because they've already had a few models out which are linux based (using QT as their graphical toolkit), or will OpenMoko produce a usable release first? Will OpenMoko be googlephone compatible? the future will be quite interesting! I've not see |

Would it make more sense to say three big bonuses of running Debian on the Zaurus are apt-get, a complete & standard documetation system and the whole Debian repos? To me it is no obsession with debian at all, because I am more obsessed with running a full-fledged *nix distro on the Z. Before using Debian my Z ran OpenBSD. If it has SD write support I may not have switched to Debian. OpenBSD/Z also comes very close, except some hardware functionalities which have yet to be fixed and speed improvement. |
