What exactly is the correct usb cord type for c1000? I've purchased a mini 5 pin and that didn't work so I searched google to discover the specific cord type is mini "A" but im not sure.

What exactly are you trying to use with the Z? The Z can take either mini-A or mini-B, and changes it's behaviour depending on which is used. The Z acts as a host (like a PC) if a mini-A is inserted, and as a device (like a usb stick) if a mini-B is inserted.
