Hi all loyal Zaurus and Mac users,
it took some time to release a new version of ZMacSync due to much lower priority than in earlier days. But now, Version 2.4.0 is here. More Info.

We have added an interesting features that broadens the range where ZMacSync can be used: Multi-Device support.

Now, you can connect either more than one Zaurus or even different devices, e.g. a Zaurus and an OpenMoko to your Mac simultaneously. While you can control only one at a time, ZMacSync now has extended the Preferences so that you can register all devices and easily switch control by tabbing through the device icons. You can see the small icons of the currently non-active devices here

Then, we have fixed a bug which may have caused spurious crashes for some of you when copying calendar entries from the Mac to the Zaurus. As in earlier releases you can request a sceen shot, copy/install files by drag&drop, open a Terminal+ssh session for the selected device etc. Finally, we are now confident that ZMacSync is Leopard-compatible.

Where will the future be? Well, we are still lacking real, full bidirectional sync between the Mac and the SharpROM PIM data (because of some limitations of the Zaurus data model compared to the Mac). This will most probably never be completed. But QuantumSTEP for the OpenMoko has made some recent progress, so that we may see a new solution that will provide all interesting features and be will be available for the Zaurus.

ZMacSync follows the "Reminderware" model - test it as long and as thoroughly as you want and if you think it has saved you enough time and money, you can purchase a key that removes the reminding message.
