given the N810 seems to have everything we zaurus users could want, albeit not in a folding clamshell but good enough, is PP dead?

![]() I guess the lack of a response says it all. There's lots of good information in this forum - ideas etc, so I think it should be kept, but frozen? |

Too bad it (the nokia) has a crap ui. That was the reason I got rid of it. I wouldn't say the tablet interface is crap, it's quirky IMHO (see this interesting analysis and comparison with the newton: http://www.cs.gmu.edu/~sean/stuff/n800/). But that doesn't matter, you can build your own distro, from scratch, use Nokias or Angstrom as a base, and use any UI you want (E17, GPE, QT - the latter exists) anyway, I didn't mean the n800 OS & UI, I meant the hardware. Given that PP turned out to be vapourware and a wishlist, the 810 fulfils most of it, just needs a mini keyboard (logitech dinovo mini) and use bluetooth to external 3G or GPRS or EDGE phone! The PP would have needed a huge amount of effort to make it useful when the Nokia has a working kernel, drivers for hardware and X11! |

- Perhaps erosion of the Antarctic ice has had a negative impact on the smaller (pocketable) Penguins?

I think owning a pandora will definitely be a fashion statement, as in "I don't care about fashion, form follows function and ugliness is fine".

It's not ugly if you look at it from the handheld gaming perspective. But since everybody is waiting for the next Zaurus, Pandora is the closest thing to it hardware wise. Actually, it's exactly what we want in a new Zaurus - Updated hardware. Nothing else. And it's still ugly if i look at it as my next Zaurus.
