I have been trying to get debain working on my c860 with the new angstrom kernel (2.6.24) but had no luck
Has anybody been able to boot debain eabi with the new kernel on the c860? I also tried following the directions on an older post (http://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=25399) on booting with the 2.6.23 kernel but had no luck as well. Any help would be appreciated. Oh, I am using the 071201 rootfs tarball for debian. Thanks. |

Good luck, Chero. |

That's true. Perhaps a solution for now, if you want to keep kernel >2.6.21 and dualboot, is not to use altboot at all, but to use an appropriate kernel (yonggun or angstrom or poky) to boot up Debian as the main system, and then kexec the other angstrom kernel to boot up the subsystem on NAND, like what's done in this thread: http://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=25555
And you should check out/file bug reports in the Angstrom bugtracker, because the devs there will ignore any issue or complaint made outside their bugtracker. |

FWIW the new 2.6.24 kernel and altboot from Angstrom (latest r13 stable image) work very well on my C750. If neither 2.6.24 nor 2.6.23 with the workarounds from the other thread work for you, there may be a problem with your rootfs. Try a rootfs from Angstrom (e.g. from here) to see if this is the case. |

I had a quick go with the Angstrom 2.6.24 kernel on my C860. Generally it seemed to work well, but Windows considered the Zaurus to be an unrecognised USB device. Does it require me to re-install the drivers on Windows?

hi danr :
I used r13 and have the same problem like you said, so I changed to r15 it seems work fine, but my desktop is also Debian, you can try r15 on XP !! http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unsta...-installkit.tgz -------------------- SL-C860 running Debian EABI on top of Angstrom 2.6.24 kernel |
