I have a sl-c1000 with cacko heavy. It works just fine with a variety of 1, 2 and 4 GB SD cards from Sandisk, Transcend and PQI. (I have the SD driver update installed and working that allows greater than 1GB SD cards to be used.
The issue: I have a 4GB SD card I bought off Ebay a while back. It is SD, *not* SDHC, and I have formatted it both Fat and FAT32 in a Vista laptop, the laptop recognizes the card no matter how it is formatted and I can read from, and write to, it successfully. However, when I insert it into the sl-c1000 I get nothing. It doesn't mount, and it doesn't show in the file manager at all. A different, plain SD, 4GB card works just fine in the zaurus and the laptop too. What can/should I do?? Thanks |

I also have one such SD card: See the SD Compat List. Sometimes it works, if you boot with card inserted.
It seems to be related to the kernel version. Distributions based on kernel 2.6 have much less problems and even SDHC cards work. I have a 4GB SD card I bought off Ebay a while back. It is SD, *not* SDHC SD cards can officially support only 2GB, cards marked as "4GB SD" were discontinued. |
