it doesnt know where the file is located. you need to specify the whole path if the file is not in the same directory. For example:
CODE
ipkg install /home/zaurus/Documents/Install\ Files/zaurus-sd-driver-update_2.1-for-Cxx0_arm.ipk

You might want to read up on Linux cli usage. As you type the folder names you can try hitting the TAB key and it will autocomplete the names.

Hi I should read up on Linux - thanks.

this is the result from the Konsole:

# ipkg install /home/samba/Main_Memory/Install_Files/ipkg/zaurus-sd-driver-update_2.1-for-Cxx0_arm.ipk
Unpacking zaurus-sd-driver-update...Done.
Configuring zaurus-sd-driver-update...MD5 check error.
//usr/lib/ipkg/info/zaurus-sd-driver-update.preinst failed. Aborting installation of zaurus-sd-driver-update

Looks like the file you downloaded was corrupted. Try redownloading it.

No, that's the message when the installed SD module isn't the one the package needs.

Keef, what Zaurus do you have? The package you are trying to install is for C860 or C760.

Hi, My Zaurus is a C860 running Cacko.

I have tried downloading and reinstalling several times. `
I have also tried downloading to a separate machine and copying across
always with the same result.

I have even tried installing the different model specific versions
and the <4gb version without any luck.

Thanks

It looks like the SD module Cacko uses for the cxx0s is not the same as the original Sharp ROM. The needed module is /lib/modules/2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix/kernel/drivers/block/sharp_mmcsd_m.o with an md5sum of b6a026d0e0eaba101a3746bc0555cdf5.

Just as I was going to bed! Now I must install this driver and replace my 4gb sd with the 16gb sdhc. tongue.gif

So I need to uninstall the tetsu driver?

EDIT:

It turned out easier than I thought. Ran the ipk file from konsole. No errors. Rebooted, 16gb sdhc detected and running. It has a super long stream of crazy debug msg at boottime. Otherwise, running 5 by 5. smile.gif

Edit:
Oh and, that will be one more reason for me to let my akita stay on Cacko and not zubuntu. I'm just lazy ... tongue.gif

The original Sharp ROM obviously. As far as I know, there is no archive that contains all files, but maybe someone can upload the original module here (if the new driver is installed, there's a backup copy in /opt/QtPalmtop/share/sdhc-driver/). Otherwise you need to do the backup - reflash - grab module - restore cycle.

I have never known system info to give an md5 of the modules. Same name does not mean it is the same module. Did you verify that your module has the same md5?

It looks like the ipk for this module on the cxx0 Zaurus needs to actually compile and link the driver when it is installed whereas on the cxx00 it just has a precompiled module and installs just that. Kind of strange.

Hi, not sure what an Md5 is!

Here is the info:

filename: /lib/modules.rom/2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix/kernel/drivers/block/sharp_mmcsd_m.o
description: "Sharp PDA MMC/SD driver"
author: "Sharp and Lineo and HTC"

"md5sum /lib/modules.rom/2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix/kernel/drivers/block/sharp_mmcsd_m.o" will give you the md5 of your module.

Md5 is an unique hash string output of an input. The binary file (sharp_mmcsd_m.o) in this case serves as the input to the md5 app. Each binary file is supposed to have a unique hash output. md5 hash is used to ensure the validity of the binary file.
