Works for me:
Dr Z Video Player VGA Petite Peinture Kismet Bluez Nano Mighty Charms tkcRace Snails tkcGallery ZEditor Zlines SafeDee qpdf2 Didn't work: tkcVideo Much better compatability than I expected. Other than tkcVideo, all my C7xx software works, and so do SL5xxx that are C7xx friendly. |

Iwong & others
I have been flailing about trying to get kismet to work, yet to no avail. Iwong referenced a guide - where can it be found? The application will run from both the console and the gui, but never finds anything, not even my own network at home. Could it be the source setting in the kismet.conf file? |

Tap and hold the Kismet icon to see a dialog come up. One of the checkboxes should be run as root.

If you tap and hold on the kismet icon you get a screen where you can set it to run as root.

I have just tried to install kismet without success. The link to the libcap-0.7.2 library is not working and the library 8.1 is not working with this version of Kismet. Anyone is having the updated stuff somewhere and can make it available?

I have perfectly working on my SL-6000L:
QPDF2 FreeNote KO/PI About the Socket Bluetooth card rev.G: I finally got it working following some instructions found on this forum: - simply install the latest Bluez package + the CSR extra package - either delete or move away the file /etc/pcmcia/bm3.conf and maybe also the directory /etc/pcmcia/bm3 - restart pcmcia and restart bluetooth - Socket rev G is now working (I tested dialup connection through a Sony Ericsson Z600 mobile phone, hcitool scan, sdptool browse, everything OK!) But I would like to install the openobex command-line utilities such as irobex_palm3 to beam files... anyone knows where I could get them? |

This is what I have been able to get to work:
Qpdf2 (qpdf2_no-render-2.2.1-20040217_arm.ipk) Opie-Reader Both work in VGA mode, and quite well, although Qpdf2 can be a little slow in rendering documents with complex graphics. Not much, (yet) but, hey, it is only 24 hours I have owned my SL-6000L.... Now, on to a serious challenge: find a video player that can stream RealPlayer and Windows Media Player files......... ![]() |

Great thread, I will gladly contribute.
First of all be it known to all that I am Linux stupid. I am probably a below average profficiency user on this forum. I almost did not get a 6000 solely because I feared my sl5500 software would not work and I would be too dumb to get it running. My fears were baseless! With the exception of Prboom, and Stratagus the only thing I did besides install the .ipk of each program was to fiddle with the icon settings. (tap and hold the icon to get to the menu) Eliminator Shopper aliens amortize applet manager brickout bzip2 clipboard-applet-sharprom construct doom demo drz video c7xx retail efax eligo fdisk forest-fire expansion for Strategic-Assault retail froot glider hancom presenter viewer htmlatzaurus htmleditor Interstellar-flames retail irk jack the unipsychle retail java-jcrypt pad java-pocket design java-tempconv java-wyvern javanoid jeode jeode demos jmap justreader keyring Motocross retail netactive-zaurus opie- irc opie-keypebble opie-kpacman opie-mediummount opie-reader opie screenshot applet opie-tetrix petit track prboom qflashlayer qpdf2 qpe-camera qpe-gaim qpe-go qpe-mighty charms retail qpe-minesweeper qpe-nethack qpe-qasteroids qpe-stash qpe-terminalvga qpe-tkcrace 5x00 retail qpe-rotator 5x00 retail qpe-wordgame qpealarmclock qpegps qpsword qswap qtella qtgps rocketelite retail scummvm scummvm-qpe sketches of q smbmount snails-demo stratagus strategic-assault retail subapplet zaurus super foul egg tkc addressbook c7xx retail tkc backup c7xx retail tkc blocks c7xx retail tkc calendar c7xx retail tkceditor c7xx retail tkc explorer c7xx retail tkc ftp c7xx retail tkc gallery c7xx retail tkc jabber -5x00 retail tkc kaptial retail tkc lines c7xx retail tkc loadrunner c7xx retail tkc lydianstone c7xx retail tkc mahjong c7xx retail tkc mail retail tkc memo retail tkc painter retail tkc player c7xx retail tkc puzzle c7xx retail tkc radio 5x00 retail tkc soq c7xx retail tkc todo retial tkc trump c7xx retail tkc vox c7xx retail tkc zip c7xx retial vectoroids warp warp fleet WhatsuponZ zbedic zeecookbook zfax zgps zaurus java banchmark zknights znester zstyle zaurus unit converter Be smart and download programs from feeds particularly for 6000 and/or c7x0 models, you will save yourself a lot of greif. However it should be painfully obvious to you that almost EVERY program works with the 6000 in at least 320 x 240 and some 5500 software will even run at 640 x 480 right out of the can! I am SO glad I upgraded to the 6000 and have ZERO regrets about not getting a c860. The usb host, second cf slot and extra battery in the sleeve, and the built in wifi are just an incredible combo. I:ve dubbed it my micro-tablet. Good luck and good hunting! Hope this helps someone. NeuroShock |
