But has anyone found any USB GPS devices (yes I know most are serial now) that work with the Zaurus? I don't want to end up buying one just to find out it won't work.

Look here, http://seclists.org/lists/fulldisclosure/2004/Oct/0310.html They modified the product id in the hardware with the serial to usb cable. They may have done the same with the cf card. So the gps will power up and everything but the Z doesn't know what drivers to use. I'm currently doing a kernel recompile to fix mine on my laptop.
