I got my 6000L a few months back from a nice fellow on these boards. I'm just wondering how many other people have them now that they have been out for a little while.

Have mine since early August. Sharp is not selling the Z in my country (Canada), so ordered it at Amazon and have it shipped to my sister living in USA.
I am really amazed by it. Now shopping for adds-on and impatiently waiting after OZ.... |

hi,
had mine since mid may. super stuff. is my third zaurus and while i just love the screen i have two major cribs against it: a. unlike the earlier models which i could sync wirelessly, i cant get it to work on the 6000 yet. b. battery life with wifi on is really poor. cheers, /bazmi. |

Had mine since the end of May. The screen blows me away every time I turn it on. Especially if I have been using the 5600 for a bit.

I have a 6000L from Amazon and am waiting for a 6000W from Japan. I'm a developer attracted to the 6000 by the screen and the promise of having a USB host as well as WiFi/Bluetooth on-board. I hope to contribute significant experience with Linux and code; it does look like the 6000-series is getting a bit overlooked in the software arena.

Had mine since April. The SL-6000 is a fun (not so little) machine. I had one guy ask if it was an "older" machine because of its size. Once I told him I was running a Web server and a VNCserver, I got a little more respect.
Thanks to DevImg, I have even done a little compiling on the Z. It isn't fast, but it does work! I am very fond of a wireless signal strength monitoring tool called wavemon. It is just a terminal based program, but it reads signal strenght in DB (which is more precise). Because it runs in a terminal, I can ssh into the Z (from my laptop) run wavemon, and monitor the signal strength that the Z is seeing. Then I just have my son wander around the house, while I do the wlan site survey from the comfort of my easy chair ;-) It is too bad that Sharp is pulling the SL-6000 out of the US market. But that isn't the end of the world. After all, I live in Canada (where they are _not_ sold) and I still have one! Craig... |

I have had my ZSL6kL since late May. Its a pretty awsome tool and I don't regret buying it for even a second. Despite Sharps lackluster support.
