Here is a "Mac-like" screenshot, made on:
* Sharp Zaurus C860 with Sharp ROM (other models look the same) * running X/Qt and QuantumSTEP * the Qt menubar can be hidden leaving the top row menu bar Please note that this is "work in progress", so be patient with the layout and graphical design (we currently focus on functionality and compatibility and hunting bugs). ![]() -- hns |

QUOTE(lardman @ Sep 28 2005, 12:53 PM) QUOTE Please, please, please tell me this will run on the SL-5500s (OZ/Hentges)...I've been running Enlightenment since before the initial release (DR0.3) about 7 years ago. I would dearly love to have it on my Zaurus... It should be possible to run on a 5500, though it will require some pruning to the flash image as even e-image-core comes out at about 30Mb (and e-image was c.80Mb iirc). You'll definitely need an ext2 formated SD/MMC/CF card handy Si I have a 1GB and will get as large a card as is available. In fact, you have me all jazzed, I'm going to install it on my laptop... Is it configured to run under OZ/GPE or as a replacement for Opie? |

QUOTE(polito @ Sep 29 2005, 03:03 AM) Stuffman, What Z you have there? Seems you're using your Z a lot by the looks of what you got going on that desktop... have you run into any snags with pdaxrom? I've got a C3100 and really have to use it for work and what not so I've been leery about going to pdaxrom. I have a good 'ol C860 (soon to celebrate it's second birthday, and still to be surpassed by any other non-Zaurus PDA). I usually don't do all that stuff at any one time, it was just that way to show off the desktop. So far, pdaXrom has been pretty impressive, and even more so with Xfce. If you use the default desktop manager, things are pretty nice and stable, and for the short time I was using it I had no problems whatsoever. Xfce is really nice, and things seem to work well also, but there are a few issues when using the ROX filemanager (the most annoying being that if you forget to close any windows showing what you have on removable media before you eject it, the whole thing crashes and you have to start it up again with the terminal. Other than that, being able to use KO/Pi and Ka/Pi are wonderful, and running Firefox is awesome, though it's a somewhat old package and really needs a going-through to slim it down as much as possible (it's pretty slow and a memory hog). pdaXrom has come a long way, so I'd recommend giving it a shot. Just do a Flash backup before you install, so if you don't like it you can always go back to your previous configuration. |

QUOTE Is it configured to run under OZ/GPE or as a replacement for Opie? It's a separate image - so it's OZ/e17 Si |

It's not much on my SL-5500, but I'm proud of it anyway.
(at least until I can afford a C-series) Thanks to Cresho and bam for all the work.

Here are some screenshots from my C3100 using icons from the oslinux theme and some custom build ones mixed with the umicon style for the buttons and bars. I love mixing elements from several themes

Great minds think alike, eh? I made this theme about a year ago and always wanted to post it somewhere. It was inspired by a Mac OS 8 theme from mmhart.com.

Sweet looking screenshots, Cresho.
Btw, you ever get that steel theme for the 5500 available? (Dear Santa, I would like a more affordable SL-C1000 for Xmas. I've been very good this year. Your buddy, Psion) |

I put it aside to complete the gant for the c series. Now i am working on the sl steel theme. I am debating on the background though since silver is hard to look at with certain wallpapers. |

Got a screenshot of your steel theme? Maybe we can get some input for a suitable background.
BTW: I noticed on your site a screenshot of the Gant icons that appears to be on an SL-series, however you only have icons for the C-series. Or can these icons be used on the SL-series? Thanks for all the hard work. |

I actually grabbed wallpaper from kde-look.org called "Linux Powered" and cropped it down to size. http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=29595 I do that with a lot of my backgrounds. You mean I might actually be able to conrtribute? Cool! |
