I have few very simple Excel files I have transferred to the SL-6000L. Their size is originally around 20kb. How is it possible that the size grow to more than 200kb after I open them in the Zaurus, make modifications like changing the columns width and text font and save them?

It looks also a little odd than when I try to open the modified file I get a warning message saying that the file is very large and it will take a while to open..... And in some cases it is several minutes.

I mean, the little beast can play video, open almost instantaneously large PDF files, run fairly complex programs, but considers "very large" a 200kb spreadsheet?

I know the issue is probably the way Hancom sheet deals with native Excel files and not with the Z per se, but still is quite annoying to have a powerhouse like the SL-6000L and not being able to work with a spredsheet!!!!!!

Any suggestions on how to solve the problem?

Is there any safe application available to control the clock of the SL-6000L CPU? I know some exist for the SL-5600 and SL-C7/8xx, has anybody tested one of those on the SL-6000L?

I'm not really interested in overclocking my Z, actually I want to do the opposite when using it for non processor-intensive tasks, like checking Calendar and reading e-books.

If the clock could be slowed down to ~100MHz, there would probably be a measurable impact on battery life. I could use some more of that....

Okay, I got my SL-6000L and I have been using a Psion 5mx so far. Any other former (or current....) Psioneer out there able to help me out with figuring how to convert my Agenda, Contacts and Data files into a format the Zaurus PIM applications can understand?

As far as I can see, the only hope seems to be to use Outlook to import the Psion files after I have converted them into a common format (CSV or dBase, for example).
Even that would leave me no option to convert the Agenda file, although luckily that's the least critical of all.

However, I prefer to avoid using Outlook, the Qtopia desktop seems good enough for what I want to do.

Any suggestions?

got recently my SL-6000L and I wonder if the standard Sharp ROM allows to run multiple instances of the same application.

Specifically, it would be great if I could keep opened at the same time multiple (and different) Address Book and Opie-reader files.

A couple of secondary questions:

1. Is there a way to "minimize" applications, so to see the main tabbed screens keeping applications running?

2. Other than tapping on the icons down in the taskbar, is there any key short cut to cycle through opened applications? (Sort of like Alt + Tab under Windows).

I come from almost a decade of Psion computer use and all of the above can be easily done even on their oldest models, like the 3a and 3c.

Thanks in advance.

Hello all,

I guess it may sound as a weird inquiry... Is any of you aware of Amateur Radio software for the Zaurus platform, specifically for the SL-6000L? I'm thinking of stuff like Satellite Tracking programs, Morse Trainer, Digital Modes (PSK31, RTTY, etc.) and so on.

Thanks! N1XOI
