I've been getting very comfortable with my 6000L. I've found compatibility issues and other gripes. On the Left Hand Side there is a headset plug for listening to music and perhaps a microphone. It doesn't accept a standard stereo plug. I gotta go looking for something thats a bit smaller. I tried to run the qpose emulator on my 6000 to get Palm functionality. It took forever to setup my environment. Once I was all set, I ran the ROM and my memory overflowed due to lack of space. So I set out to create a swap. But the 'swapon' command in the SL only accepts an '-a' flag. According to:

The swapon command should simply accept a share file location. But it fails at that point. I tried downloading the little swap program with a gui and that failed to open. I'm prety bummed about that not working.

but on to bigger and better things.

I'm on the OZ mailing list but I can't post to it yet, since I can't send through that account right now. But I get the general feeling that its one of those wait and see until you ca get your OZ package for the 6000. But I'm willing to try it. Some people say I should go with the C7XX build of it. Others say don't try it. Others say that I can recover with the Sharp ROM.

I'm down to give it a try, I just would like assurances that I can restore the ROM afterward. I'd hate to turn this into a worthless PDA. I've formated my device once and that happened without incident. Let me know what I should do and I'll report back with how successful it was.

I got it. Its in my hot little hand. I got lots of information for the list to read and I'll take a ton of high res pics of it. I'll also post all the docs and drivers on the CD. There is a little bomb I'll drop right now before I go off to a party....

I know there are a lot of people who are looking to buy the Sl-6000 with the Wireless and Bluetooth. Well, the manual and the CD that I got is for the SL-6000N/Sl-6000L. There is nothing anyware that mentions the Sl-6000W. So that might shed light on the fact that its really not ready since the docs aren't even ready for it. Some might say that the "W" version is significantly different to justify its own manual and CD, you might be right. But it seems like its not ready for primetime.

I did get a bunch of Quick start guides and a fold out map of what the buttons do and what not. This implies to me that its a consumer product. Probably no serious advertising, but it definately is provided in its box as a product for any Tom, Dick, and Harry.

My SL-6000 is on a delivery truck and should be here within an hour. I like the built in wireless, but I know I need Fast Ethernet for work. So I was scanning this forum and a chap from the UK had a bunch of problems and then bought a Trendnet CF 10/100 card. It seemed to work just fine for him. I went to the site, here is the link:

It states that its compatible for all the WinCE PDA's but does not mention the Zaurus. I'm wondering how I would install this? ...they have drivers to dload on the site. The Zaurus is fantastic, but is it just gonna plug and play install itself? Got any ideas?

BTW, I purchased from PcConnection.com. They delivered on a Saturday.

I'm questioning whether I should pre-order. Of course I want it, but I'm considering holding out for March 31st to determine:

it if does indeed ship on that date
if other e-tailers offer a more competitive rates

I consider buying now in fear that the pre-orders exhaust the initial supply that amazon gets.

So I'm wondering if anyone has purchased from Amazon.
