Great! - an Irish ZUG community. Thanks to Omega for setting it up. Does anybody else want to shout-out?

Sorry, I debated putting this in the Newbie thread.

I'm deleting the Sharp Rom from my 5600 and installing 3.3.6pre1. What I want to do is install a basic, full-featured system that allows for document authoring and PIM with KO/PI. I understand that this will entail installing OPIE, all the files for which are available in the Experimental Poodle Feed:

I'm not yet familiar with basic linux procedures, but I'm learning. I understand that I will need to use the developer tools to reconfigure the Sharp apps from the install disk for OZ. The question is, before that, to get the OZ system/OS installed with OPIE, how do I pick from the IPKs available in the Feed to ensure that the system is fully installed? How will I be informed of file dependencies and missing IPKs during the install process?

I've looked at "Upgrading Opie on OpenZaurus 3.2" and I wonder whether effecient use of the Feed will require prior successful configuration of the Zaurus for internet sharing on my Win pc?

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Here's the site for K-MP3. They've just released a new version.

The site says it works for KDE and QT. It's based on mpg123 but has a GUI and optimisations. People have been debating the merits of various music players. Could this be a contender?

Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00...9722675-6783239

Rebate ($30) link: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00005MI...13.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

Note for people in Europe: I'm not sure whether you can claim this rebate (though it's worth a try). Still, $99.99 + shipping is pretty good for 512 meg CF. Amazon.com is now shipping many items direct to Europe.

I haven't received the Zaurus yet, but some guys offering accessory lists at Amazon have claimed that the maximum compatible size for Secure Digital cards is 64 megs. I'm an utter newbie, so please shed some light (before I spend again!).

Hello to everyone here at ZUG forums. I'm green but I'll ripen. wink.gif
