Coming back to try to use pdaXrom after a long time without Z and then without pdaXrom, I discover a bug which is really sufficient to disgust anybody ...

I've just installed PdaXrom (beta 1 - because all the threads that I've read seem to indicate it as the last one with a correct APM). And I discover a bug which I had met in the past, but I don't remember how I handled it, since I'm sure not to have been so much embarassed as I'm now :

At nearly each suspend-resume, my Z closes some or all the opened windows or underlying applications, and in pure initial shell environnement (before any "startx" command), I have seen a "logout" done just when resuming ...

Well, this is not quite comfortable to work ...

Would anybody have an idea ? (Sorry for such a basic thread compared with several "intergalactical" other ones around ...) :-)

Thx by adv,

A very simplistic question to help all the "geniuses" of this list have some rest :

When I connect my Z860 to my PC via USB, I have an error msg saying "USB peripheral not recognised".

Is there a driver so set on my PC (Win XP) or is it a symptom of hardware failure ...?

If it's a driver missing, is there a place on Internet where I could find it ?

NB : my goal would be to make this run under another ROM, but I came back to Sharp ROM so as to test this in the more classic conditions, and I don't even manage to make this run ... Who is the culprit : the PC or the Zaurus ?

Thanx for help !

Hi everybody,

I'm surprised not to find more discussions about the port of KDE 3.4 on pdaXrom.

This seems however to be one of the greatest recent news, and a new topic is perfectly justified.

The first questions that could/should be discussed here are :

1. Is there a "HowTo" or a general doc for installing KDE above pdaXrom ?
2. Could KDE run above other Zaurus ROMs ?
3. What are the applications already available with this KDE ?
4. What are the compatibility issues between native KDE apps and pre-existing pdaXrom apps ?
5. Is there a gcc sdkable to recompile on Zaurus (and for Zaurus) simple applications taken in the KDE source repository (or other repositories) ?

I hope that this thread may carry many more questions again. A great new door is opened, let's use it.

Hi readers, reply, send comments, add questions, correct mistakes, but don't let this thread quiet !

In comparing the Zaurus's, I need to have comparative elements between the cheapest SL-C 700 and the one above.

I simplify the problem saying that SL-C 760 & 860 are excessively similar, and that the 860 is not worth the price difference with the 760.

My main question is : what are the true technical reasons not to take a basic SL-C 700 ? what are its limitations ? Is it for example unable to read a video, which the 760 would be able to do ? Are there Linux limitations due to the lack of memory (64 MB) on the 700 ? But if I use a CF Card, is it impossible to dedicate some memory place on it to extend Linux memory ?

Well, I think that these brutal questions should make react the community ...

I would be interested in a long-time warranty for a SL-C 7x0 : a 5 years warranty would seem proper.

Is there any know way to have that ? Anyway, all information about warranties longer than one year are welcome.

Thank's by advance to the repliers !
