It seems IrDa is completely broken in Cacko 1.22a lite.

Neither I can beam anything (IrDA not enabled error), nor I can receive anything, nor I can connect via IrDa phone to internet.
My Desktop PC does not recognize any IrDA device - the Zaurus IrDA port seems to be dead - with stock ROM the IrDA port was ok - so it is not a hardware fault.

Does anybody know, how to uncover this problem?

Hi,

I have successfully compiled many SDL games for the Z. But most of them runs to slow. Has anyone an idea howto speed up SDL apps?
SDL games like Quake runs fast enough to play - so there must be a way to speed up games which are much simpler than quake.

I've just ported some games (Sharp and Cacko ROM, VGA Landscape Only) to the Zaurus.
LTris
LMarbles
Barrage
LGeneral

You can find the originals, screenshots and details here:
http://lgames.sourceforge.net/index.php

And you can find my ports and screenshots on elsi and on my Zaurus download page:

Hello.

if I start plain X11 programs remote on a desktop linux box everything under my X/QT looks fine.

But whenever I start QT/KDE/Gnome apps remote everything looks like a zoom factor of 500% is active.

Is there a way to modify the scale factor of the X/QT server or are there client settings to override the X11 scale factor?

Hello,

the /bin/mount command is a link to the busybox - which is not able to use smbfs.

Because /bin is readonly, there is no way to install a better mount command like this:
http://familiar.handhelds.org/releases/v0....-1-fam1_arm.ipk

The smbclient package can not add a /sbin/mount.smbfs since /sbin is also read only.

So no chance for a "mount -t smbfs" command and for using smbfs entries in the fstab. mad.gif

The smbclient package is not able to use any other unicode_map than the ISO8859-1 map - as a result special characters like german umlauts can not be displayed in cacko smb mounts. I tried to use a ISO8859-15 unicode_map - but the smbclient does'nt accept it.

In summary the capabilities for using smb shares whith cacko 1.22 lite is very restricted and can not be repaired by installing better packages.

I hope this will be fixed in 1.23.

regards,
Silvio
