I am close to buying one for my SL-5500, but I want to know how it will run with the various ROMs

This card appears to have one of the longest ranges:

cf wifi cards
-------------
socket ?
smc 528-1320ft
dlink 460-1311ft
senao 492-1312ft

The socket spec online says ~300ft, but does not break it down by 11/5.5/2/1 Mbps. I am close to purchasing the SMC as well, but will try socket's tech support to see if they'll give out the range.

I have an SMC2642W. It works great! I've never had a problem with it. The range is great too, but it does tend to drain the battery pretty quick if you have the lcd on along with it. I have used without a problem in OZ 3.2, 3.3.5, 3.3.6pre1, the tkcROM, and the sharp rom, and the cakco 3.10 rom. This is on my SL-5000D. I'd recommend the card.

I have been using this card for more than a year now and I'm fully satisfied but...

I just switched to OZ 3.2 and 3.3.5 and it's not recognized any more. Sometimes I'm able to get it running without WEP.

aig: Any hint for me how to setup the card with OZ
