hello,

i tested this beautiful rom for two weekends, but i am struggling with it.
maybe somebody can help me. i flashed to guylhems rom and updated
to pdaXrom.

1. matchbox crashes and after a reset i get messages like

"Inode #... was a directory with children -removing those too..."

some libraries or symbolic links disappeared. has someone a good
workaround for this?

2. the clock does not work properly after suspending/resuming.

3. resuming does not work always using the power on button.

4. exiting from matchbox "crashes", grey screen..

to be continued:-)

The messages ("Inode #... was a directory", etc.) are just diagnostic messages
from the jffs2 Filesystem (a special filesystem for flash storage). They do not
indicate an error. Just ignore them...

Your libraries most likely didn't disappear, just the symbolic links pointing to them
disappeared. They are rebuilt after a reboot by a program which runs automatically in
the background. Just wait a few minutes and the symbolic links to the libraries
should be there again.

Bye,
Christian

thank you for your answer. i recognized that these messages appeared after system
crashes and resets. after resizing the root partition to 45 mb and reflashing the
these diagnostistic messages dissappeared and also about 13mb of my flash memory:-)

i think it might be better if you don't use the resizing stuff on the pdaX flashing menu....
You might watn to male a sd partition to mount as home eventually, too...

the whole pdaX/600 thing is very nice, but a few tweaks are needed...

i was wrong, i got the same messages with a resized partition. after that i
flashed to guylhem rom + pdaxrom.

what is the advantage to mount the sd card as a home partition?

a partition on sd.

it seemed to me on my first run through this, that /home had very little space, being on the flash....
It might need checking. I did a 100 meg partition (reflashed and should redo atm) on my sd and mounted that to /home. worked nicely.

I think the problem (I went through this when rc10 was first released) was that some software I was using would use up /home and cause issues.
