I'd like to get LIRC working on pdaxrom so I'd be able to use my PDA as a remote control.

I've manage to compile the LIRC package but I have not much of an idea about the needed kernel modules and how to compile them..

Anyone?

Note that you will not get much range, because the infra red LED is designed for IRDA rather than remote control.
