I have read the posts on this forum about not using the EA-72 AC adaptor with the C-series Zaurii. Personally, I have owned an SL-C750 and 860 and have used this adaptor in the U.S. without any problems on both models. I now have a C-1000.

I have seen auctions on Ebay for the EA-75, seen here: EA-75 AC Adaptor

With the scarcity of EA-70S adaptors to be found, is the EA-75 considered to be a comparable adaptor for use in the U.S.?

As I understand, this is a new worldwide adaptor designed by Sharp. It is shipped with the new SL-3100. As such, you are safe using it with any model of the Zaurii in the United States and Europe. The discussions that you read concerned a power adaptor that came with SL-3000 and SL-1000 and were designed for 100 v (which is in Japan).

However, you may still buy EA-70S if you like at amazon.com. I like this model because its not plug-heavy (doesn't fall out of the recepticle).

I bought two of the EA-70s adapters from Streamlinecpus (The US affiliate of Trisoft Japan), for my C1K. They do a lot of business around here and have a good reputation.

The '70s was supplied with the US-marketed 6K. I've had no problems using mine on my C1K.

Hi all,

the EA-75 is not CE/FCC certified. Also the japanese writing
on it should say "Don't use outside Japan" (if anybody can
read japanese and has an EA-75 we would be happy for
a confirmation).

So the point is: No dealer can sell the EA-75 legally in Europe
or the US without testing.

We made our CE/FCC tests with the EA-70(S). The test result
is always for the device _and_ the AC adaptor, so we will
continue to deliver the EA-70(S) with our units.

Long story short: The EA-75 may work outside Japan but
for a professional (corporate) user/dealer it would require
a CE/FCC test.

The Ea-70s adapters are also what we will supply here in the US with each unit. There are still plenty of them available.

What is the difference between EA-70 and EA-70S?

Do you know the max. charge current the power source should be able to supply (for the C1000)?

there's no real difference, it's Sharpspeak
The AC adaptor itself is the EA-70. If it's in the
nice box with an AC cord, it's called EA-70S.

Specification for the EA-70(S) is 5V / 2A.

Better don't try a different charger, use the
search function or Google for reasons why not.
