Hi,

I've been very enthusiastic and purchased a 860 and a new D-Link DCF-660w card.

After playing around with pdaxrom I finally ended up with OpenZaurus 3.5.3 (and opie).
Unfortunatly I can't get the WLan-Card configured - to me it appears as if there is
a problem with loading the firmware.

The following modules are loaded:
# lsmod
Module Size Used by Not tainted
hostap_cs 56728 1 - Live 0xbf01d000
hostap 114408 1 hostap_cs, Live 0xbf000000
#

dmesg says:
hostap_cs: Registered netdevice wifi0

I manually tried to load a primary firmware (that came with OpenZaurus):
# prism2_srec wlan0 /etc/pcmcia/pm010102.hex
srec summary for pm010102.hex
Included file name: PM010102.HEX
Component: 0x0015 1.1.2 (primary firmware)

ioctl[PRISM2_IOCTL_HOSTAPD]: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Missing wlan component info
Could not read wlan RIDs
#

Do I need another firmware? Can anybody that managed to get this card running
on OpenZaurus 3.5.3 tell me how he accomplished that?

Thanks a lot for any help and hints!!!

try to edit /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/hostap-fw-load to make it recognize your card, then eject/insert it and look what happens...

Oops! Sorry for this topic.
In found out that actually my card works fine, but it has loose contact!!
I have to put some paper or something under the card so that it has contact for
more than a second.
