I was just looking at this drive:

http://www.vosonic.com/index.php?php_mode=spec&php_itemid=36

It's powered, so I'm wondering if there's any reason the Zaurus couldn't use it as an external drive.

Another question: some of these come with a car charger, and I thought that one might be compatible with the SL-C1000 until I realised it takes 2.5A (5V).

Does anyone know if a USB or car charger for the SL-C1000 is out anywhere yet, or has anyone got a different one to work with the Z?

If its powered externally, then it should work provided it also is USB 1.1 compatible (some USB 2.0 drives have limited compatibility and might not work sad.gif
As for charging, I use the pcord to charge my c3000 via USB.

Thanks!

Could you elaborate on this pcord ("power cord"?) strategy for charging the Z (1000/3000) via USB? I must be a little slow on this one. The USB chargers I've seen for sale don't fit the 1000.

The P-cord (http://www.diatec.co.jp/products/det.php?prod_c=138) is a usb cable that draws current from a PC usb port and plugs into the Zaurus AC adapter hole.

It takes about 4-6 hours to charge my C1000 using one of these.

I see, thanks! The subsequent question is (naturally), does anyone know how us gaijins in Europe can get our hands on one of these cables?

Do a search on ebay: lots of PSP USB charge cables are available. The PSP plug is the same as the Zaurus Cxxxx plug (and the PSP charger also works with the Zaurus)
