the title says it all, are they compatible?
they are much much cheaper than bl11, and i could buy 4 bl08 for the price of a bl11.

Yep, they actually work for slightly shorter time as a natural drawback...

Be careful though. I bought some "compatible" OEM BL-08 from a shop called Laptops for Less and they did NOT work with the SL-C1000. I have no idea if they would work with the 5500. Instead of charging, they engage a blinking error light and you can leave them like that for as long as you like, they won't power the thing.
