I don't know about you guys but I love supporting the Lgames which runs on the zports. So the emulators stuff runs off these zports sdl. Anybody have a suggestion of compatible sdl for both lgames and emulators which increase performance and not conflict with anything?

thoughts..?

you would need to get the patches used for each of those sdl and combine them and then compile this new sdl package with bvdd support and ideally fix the keyboard mappings in the sdl itself. all the sdl files so far are compiled using th c700 keyboard and hence needs remapping. i plan to build my own sdl with a proper c3x00 keyboard map and bvdd support.

Exactly what I was looking at. I have found various SDL's aroud the internet and the new batch of them include bvdd support.

The key rotation running lgames off zports sdl is correct. The zemuex front end seems to work on previous sdl's.One reason I am looking for bvdd support is because of the obvious (bvdd) and I have found some that totally killed my zaurus as well. In searching, I also came to the conclusion zports seems to be correct.

here are a few games which run correctly on zports

http://lgames.sourceforge.net/index.php
http://www.newbreedsoftware.com/
http://www.users.waitrose.com/~thunor/
http://led.e-fever.org/zaurus/modules/mydownloads/

I would preffer added support of bvdd on the zports sdl.

one last thing, the original zports sdl project webpage seems to be missing. I cannot find the original source files or the owner. Maybee i have'nt looked hard enough.

If your looking for the CVS repository it is here.

I sure hope your bvdd support will work with Tovarish's ScummVM port located here. I tried the Cacko feed's bvdd libSDL with it and none of the FM Towns games that I have work with it.

That's a real shame since those games are excellent and I spent quite a bit of time and coin acquiring them for my collection.

Thanks for all you hard work Cresho and Meanie.

I looked into the SDL situation a little while ago, it should be possible to build an SDL that has both the bvdd and qtopia drivers. The driver that a particular game uses could be selected by setting an ENV variable..

The only problem is that some of the names used in bvdd conflict with the qtopia driver, so I'm guessing they would just need to be changed to be unique.

I'm not that familiar with the zPorts SDL, so I don't know what driver it is using.
