Hi,

Buying a Zaurus should not be so hard, click click ..find the credit card and a few days later you will have a new Zaurus in your hands....but that isn't how it is..sadly.

Being from Sweden Im used to pay online with my credit card and on some cases using paypal as a proxy, but the places in Europe that sells Zaurus, besides www.handheld-linux.com seems to like there customers to fax copies of the credit cards etc, isn't that so 97'?

And being that the C3200 it's a bit expensive, I gaze to the East..to conics and pricejapan for them to still my need for a Zaurus...but that didn't end out so well either..

conics: You get a lot of stuff with you Zaurus..but come on, I don't want to pay an extra 3.9% procent for using a CC. (I have not sent them a e-mail but I guess that they don't support Cash payment via paypal either...)

that leaves pricejapan, nice homepage, sadly a bit unclear about what they ship..but hey, they seem so support paypal cach payment, which meens that I don't pay anything extra (as transfers from my bank account is free but pricejapan have to pay to recive my money, but hey they are a bussines.).

So it seems that it will be pricejapan that get my cash, however I have one question. What kind off AC adapter do they ship with the device? Is it the same as this one: http://www.handheld-linux.com/wiki.php?pag...erer=%5BShop%5D?

Please note that you can buy possible anything except a Zaurus and not have these kind of issues...trust me on that ..

Flame on bitte wink.gif

PriceJapan was great for me sl-c1000. Ordered it on the 16th and got it on the 18th in conjunction with DHL for shipping. From what I can see, it does NOT come with an international charger. Lable says 100v not 100-240. Hope that helps a bit.

Ok, thank you!

You answered one of my question =)

It's a bit sad that conics does not have a "free" paying method as they seem to ship with a international charger, but you can't have it all...

What a company charges for fees really should not be all that important, as long as they are reasonable....I mean, what really matters is what is the FINAL price after you break it all down...ie: how much are you paying for the Zaurus to get to your door (and only paying a minimum for accesories UNLESS you really would buy them anyway).

I have purchased from PriceJapan on several occassions and have been very pleased. Don't know much about any of the others so I nothing to say about them (good or bad).

Personally I would rather pay a few percent (if the total all came out the same) rather than give anyone my bank account info..but that's probably just paranoia. smile.gif

I think I recall that PriceJapan offered the European Power adaptor, but I cannot be sure.

I bought my 3100 from pricejapan last year and it comes with a Sharp adaptor (it has EA-75 on it which I believe is the model number). It is rated 100-240V and plugs into standard hotel "shaver" sockets.

Anyway if you're not sure what pricejapan would ship with the c3200 then try asking them smile.gif

pricejapan ships the Zaurus in its original packaging, ie they do not open it up and add/remove/replace part before they ship it (other companies do that).

as for power adaptors, the C3000 and C1000 come with a 100V adaptor. The C3100 and C3200 come with 100-240V adaptor. this is how Sharp Japan packaged them.

Hi sorry for replaying to you all so late.

* when you are using paypal, it works as a proxy between your bank and the company you buy from, ie: they can't see the information about your cc card.

* I have send price-japan a e-mail asking them which kind of AC they supplied with the Zaurus...but I didn't get an answer, hence my question here ;)

But on the bright side, it's looks like I will buying my Zaurus from price-japan.

So if Im able to get hold of a "Japan to Europe" AC plug, I'll be be good to go?

BTW, does anyone know if I am likely to get to pay custom tax (or what the name is) on the Zaurus being that it's bought in Japan and shipped to Europe?

I have one more question, as it seems that finding a japan to europe AC adapter plug is a bit hard, I read something about the Zaurus AC adapter being compatible with the PSP AC adapter, it's this true? (I don't want to fry my new Zaurus)

If that's true then the problem is solved easily!

Presumed that you got the right 100-240 AC adapter, for Japan-to-Europe conversion, you can look around travel power plug converter from your electronic shop.

If you want to save cost, cut the Japanese plug and wire yourself with the European plug.

The adaptor and plug are integrated so you can't cut the plug smile.gif

You know, standard iPaq chargers work perfectly instead of the normal charger. Just pick yourself one up from your local computer store. o.o
moi
a standard PSP plug would do the trick also
