Has an expansion board for use as a "PC"

Might be worth a speculative purchase.........?

That came out quite a while ago, November 2005 to be exact.

If you're wanting a game player for emulators, it'd be a fairly good purchase. If you're looking for a PDA that's really good with games, or really PDA at all, it wouldn't be to your liking. If you're looking for an interesting embedded platform, its dual-core ARM9 CPU (one with MMU, one without) should prove interesting.

Plenty of hacking (both hardware and software) going on with it, since it was designed with homebrew in mind. I've been considering one for a while (since before it was released), but its lack of touch screen, lack of RAM (only has 64MB), and lack of 3D processor has put me off.

The forums say it can run QTopia. Anyone had any experience?

Will it run QTEmail, Opera, Hancom word and the like?

What I realy want is a Zaurus I can use as a PC (ext. Screen kebord and mouse), as I'm sick of carting two laptops around to customers sites which invairably have a screen, kbb and mouse a the desks I use

It only has a QVGA screen, and that'd put a damper on using it as a mini-PC. Also, I don't believe it has VGA out, only composite/S-Video.

Closed source Z apps would need their environment the same as a Z. If you don't know how to setup GNU Qtopia that way(compiliers used, settings, etc.), I wouldn't bet on closed source apps working.

Why do you have, and carry, two laptops?

I would also have to point out that for some reason you can only address 32MB of the 64MB RAM on the GP2X under Linux (qtopia and gpe) at the moment and nobody has managed to take full advantage of the TV out under GP2X11 or qtopia so your TVout display is restricted to 320x240 right now
