I haven't bought one, but the reviewers seem to be happy with them. Maybe for those who want flash cards in their C3x00s.

Not to rain on your parade, but isn't there a history of A-Data cards not being compatible with the Zaurus? Or am I thinking of a diff company?

I don't know about A-Data CF cards, but I have a 1gb A-Data SD card, and a 1gb A-Data USB flash drive, and they both work perfectly for me.
I couldn't vouch for larger capacity cards though.

that's a v good deal.. I am quite sure it'd work in the Z since it works with a 6GB microdrive and thus should support the block capacity, which will be a limit of the kernel driver... however, when talking about a kernel which Sharp have played with you can't be too sure, so I would say with OZ and pdaXrom I'd say 99.999% certain it'd work, with Cacko 99% and with Sharp only 97%.

If newegg would accept my credit card and guarantee delivery by Saturday I'd buy one!
--edit - that is to say, not being a resident of USA and my credit card being from UK, it's unlikely they would.
anyway, the good thing is it won't be long before prices will catch up in the UK.

I just bought two 1GB A-Data SD cards. Both work great. I have owned a 4GB A-Data card for several months that I have not been able to work on any platform I own, Z, digital camera, XP Pro boxes (3), linux boxes (2). Maybe just a bad card, but I am at the point where I won't shell out the $$ for a large cap card unless someone reports success or I can test it myself.

I think it should work out since CF specs has not changed all that much in recent years compared to SD specs.

Note however that having storage on CF means loosing out on having a CF wifi or CF BT card.

SD card prices are pretty much on par with CF cards these days ... so it may be wiser to get an SD card instead.

For those who have SL-Cxx00s, mostly. For those with SL-Cxx0s, it may make sense since they don't get the new SD driver.

I say "mostly" for the SL-Cxx00 owners because I've seen posts talking about switching out the microdrive in SL-C3x00s for flash when they become cheap. I think this counts as cheap.

I wouldn't risk opening my Z to install a "cheap" CF card.
I would go with a good brand name and probably one with a lifetime warranty, or an industrial quality CF card made by a reputable firm.

If you look at the images, this card does have a lifetime warranty.

By the way, I wouldn't open my Z to change the microdrive either...unless it fails (), in which case I'll probably throw in a new microdrive. I don't want to wear out a flash card with swapping.
