I was just wondering about the icons. Is there a website which dedicates icons and wallpaper for pdaxrom or pdaxii13? are they the same? what methods used to add icons?

So far, im just thinking of either-
1. backing up the current icons directory to replace it with new ones
2. same as above but replacing the symlinks instead.

so far, i seen this one

http://zaurus.spy.org/feeds/jedhead/

is this site supported still?
conundrum
I don't think it's been supported since it started, however I use it every time I reflash. It's got a lot of good wallpapers and some good walk throughs for customization.

most icons and themes come from various ipk files, and depending on the window manager you use, different themes apply.

for example, there are GTK themes which are used by most applications, then there are gnome themes for gnome based apps, QT themes, GPE themes. Each window manager has their own themes too, ie openbox, fluxbox, icewm, xfce, etc... even rox has its own themes too, and then apps like xmms have their own themes too.

currently, there is no central place dedicated to themes that can be used on pdaXrom. most people just grab themes from the corresponding window managers or applicatiosn and manually extract the icons and background images...

it would be great to have suitable themes for pdaXrom, ie. tweaked with font sizes that are suitable for the small screen and pre-packages as ipk files for easy install....

here is a list of packages for icons and themes to help you get started if you want to work on themes for pdaXrom...

Thanks!

I was asking because I came accross a few packages which already have the names of the applications for each window manager.

like ex.

gnome-application.png
gtk-application.png
xfce-application.png

if this is the case, then I would not have any trouble creating these files from the already named png but i guess I'll have to compare it to the already set filestructure of pdaxrom or pdaxii13.

thanks. Ill look into this even further.

ha!

jedhead added some themes here quickly and then things went silent.

the themes directory is > 95% of the traffic to spy.

yes, it's less than 0.5% of the disk space (just for zaurus).

I'm still watching the logs for the zarusus stuff, and the themes is probably
the only stuff that will remain when I do the purge.
