hi.I've installed pdaxii3 5.4.9 full version on a c3200.when I suspend it and resume it , the keyboard doesn't function.often the screen freezes and I' ve to reset c3200.I have the same problem even if I install an older version of pdaxii13.the microdive is formatted and the nand is recovered by the trisoft backup ( because I thought that was the nand corrupted ,but I have mistaken)
anyone knows how to fix those problems?
Thank you and sorry for my bad English ,

there used to be a problem if you suspend and immediately resume I assume this isn't what you mean?

Hmm. Is your clock set correctly?

I find that matchbox stops responding to the keyboard or screen taps (but the pointer still moves) if the date is changed significantly; there's a script in /etc/apm/resume.d which restarts matchbox on resume if the date has changed too much. So I only change the date on my Z after quitting X.

There are also scripts in /etc/apm which save and restore the system clock to the hardware clock. But I had trouble a while back getting the hw and sys clocks synchronised; after resume the date would go way off - this was eventually fixed by doing "hwclock --utc --systohc" after setting the date.

I just looked at the restore date and restart matchbox scripts... on my system they're both configured to execute at the same time! I think if you've got a time synch problem and your apm scripts fire off in the wrong order you could get exactly the problem you're seeing.
zeroc87
the pointer doesn't moves when screen freezes.so I 've to fix the date?
zeroc87
" cannot acces the Hardware Clock via any know method".this is the errore when I tape hwclock --utc --systohc in a shell

hwclock: open of /dev/rtc failed, errno=16 : Device or resource busy.Ni usable clock interface found

even if I don't resume I have the same problem and is the same also with icewm or fluxbox.
zeroc87
anybody knows how to fix this problem?even pdaxrom has this problem?

I've had this problem with pdaxrom and meanies version, when I try the hwclock I get an error like the following:
Cannot access the Hardware Clock via any known method.

This problem is the only thing keeping me from stickign with meanies version of pdaxrom

I haven't tried Meanie's Pdaxii3 yet - but with Beta3 the above happens when you have installed atd and have it running. The fix is to stop atd, update your clock then restart atd, further info can be found by searching this forum.
T3_slider
Try /sbin/hwclock and make sure you try it outside of X. Your best bet would be to restart the Z and then get out of X if it automatically starts (I'm unfamiliar with pdaXii13's startup). Then try changing the date using "date 082923582007" for right now (August 29, 11:58 pm in the year 2007). Then type "/sbin/hwclock --systohc --utc". Then if that still doesn't work it may be a problem with pdaXii13 (I know this problem does not exist on beta 3). If it doesn't work then post here again and I'm sure Meanie or someone else can help you.

[edit]It looks like desertrat beat me to the punch with much better advice. Basically ignore this post...[/edit]
boardboyd
nope I tried your suggestion, and even uninstalled atd and it still happens (reboot between tries)
Meanie
have you guys actually tried to use the Date&Time tool to set the date and time? nice python script with GUI and it handles all this dirty stuff like starting and stopping atd and syncing rtc for you....
boardboyd
lol I think that's the problem, was I used it, but my clock applet didn't change until I rebooted. I then started having the problems.
zeroc87
I tried to use every tool to change the time but The same problem.do you tell about a specifical tool to change the date?
zeroc87
now I've exited X11 and changed the date manually and the the command hwclock.if the c3200 won't freeze I tell you.I'm trying to suspend and resume the c3200 to see if it functions

I mentioned this issue to you when you were up here - when my clock is significantly out *any* attempt to update the clock to the correct time causes matchbox to stop responding to clicks or the keyboard. In fact keyboard works ok until a screen tap changes the input focus, then it's gone until you can ssh in to kill matchbox, or pull the battery to force a reboot (and then the time is wrong again!) So if I want to fix the time, quitting X and using date/ntp/hwclock is my only option. :S

The clock applet only updates the taskbar once a minute, so don't expect it to show the right time immediately.

It didn't show the right time for an hour. Also the when using just 'date' with no parameters in console it would show the incorrect date.
I've managed to change the time outside of X, but I still lose my keyboard after resuming from suspend.

Should I have timezones or something like that installed? I remember that in older versions of cacko you had to have timezones or some similar package installed to get the time displayed properly.
zeroc87
after some suspend and resume I think that it functions.Thank you
boardboyd
OK, looking back into the archives I found a couple posts that say to reinstall, this time I've checked the checksums of the downloaded files, and updater.sh has a different checksum than is recorded in checksums.txt (files downloaded from http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/pdaXii13/akita/). I doubt this has to do with the problem I'm having with the keyboard, but I thought I would point it out, can anyone confirm this?
boardboyd
I must have had a bad download, before, I have reinstalled pdaxII13 and the keyboard works as it should after a resume. Let this be a warning: CHECK YOUR CHECKSUMS AFTER D/L'ING!
zeroc87
my checksum are correct but the keyboard doesn't function
zeroc87
I checked my checksum and they were wrong!!!.now I've downloaded with wget and checked the cheksum and I'm flashing the Zaurus.I will tell you if it is right
zeroc87
if I suspend and resume the zaurus the keyboard doesn't function.the software date is the same that the hardware date because I use the command "hwclock --systohc --utc".I don't know how to fix the problem.when I'm wardwiving the keyboard doen't function and I have to reboot .The checksum is the same that in your website.
zeroc87
I don't know why I'm the only person that have problem with the keyboard and pdaxrom.with other rom there weren't problem with keyboard.I like pdaxrom but I'm thinking to change

It seems that this a very particular case because nobody with this model has experienced this situation. Any way you could try a complete fresh install and see if it happens again.
zeroc87
I' trying to install this rom since august and each time I format the hardrive and the nand.

i believe it must be user caused error. you must be doing something that nobody else is doing but you are not telling us what you did and only telling us the result of what you did. try remembering what you did after you installed. every little detail is important since you must be doing something which you think is normal and expected but nobody else is probably doing it and hence don't have problems...
zeroc87
I format Hardrive and reboot, then install new rom and then install hdimagefull and reboot.now I open a clean pdaxii3 system but if I suspend and resume the keyboard doesn't function.

You should try posting every single step -- ie what files you used at what points (filenames and versions!). When you make your posts so general it is impossible for anyone else to help you. Try reinstalling but writing down absolutely everything you do as you are doing it. It may be more effort, but if you're not willing to do it why should we be willing to help?
