Thinking about getting a CF GPS card for my 5500. Any opinions on which is the best? Cheapest? Most reliable?

I am using a BC-307 from GlobalStat - seems to work ok. I have read on some of the cliesource.com forums that it isnt as durable as some but I havent had any issues with it. I originally bought it to work with my clie which sort of works but the apps I wanted to run cant "see" it. Someone was writing a driver but it doesnt work with all of the apps. So using the serial_cs.o module for the 2.4.18 kernel and some reading around, I was able to get it working on my 5600. Should work the same with the 5500 I would think other then perhaps an older version of the driver depending on the kernel source on your device. I am using it with qpegps and appears to work good. The only downside (not a big deal) is acquiring the maps for your area. Ideally I would like to get a maps for several states I plan on visiting this summer but that might be a bit much. There is a good program out there for acquiring maps - I am running it on a linux box and it works good.

One thing that's important to keep in mind is that the GPS needs to have a good view of the sky, unobstructed by things like metal vehicle roofs.

Unless you're planning solely to carry the Z+GPS combo around while walking, you might be better off to get a separate unit with a serial interface.
