Looks like we currently have 6 members at the Pittsburgh ZUG, which is probably enough to go ahead and have a ZUG meeting. I'm estimating that the meeting will take place in mid-January, in order to give us enough time to work out the specifics of when and where exactly. I would appreciate any input about places to hold it. The only guidelines I would suggest are that it is somewhere relatively central (we have members both north and south of the city) and that it have some form of wireless access (preferably free). Beyond that I'm open to ideas.

Robinson Twp might be our best bet considdering those who I have seen that are north of the city are not that far north whereas those coming from Washington are pretty far south. I will check around for someplace with Wireless access. Telerama has setup a number of in-town locations, I will check for something around Robinson.

Would you let someone in from Erie:?:
I wouldn't even mind the drive, weather permitting of course!
I am similarly configured to ajoint's 5500, although running tkcROM v2 and do not have a net card of any sort. I would be interested in seeing one in action, so having access available is only from a bystander position for me.
I primarily use my Z for the PIM functions and Hancomword. OK, so I play Mahjongg and Patience, too!
God Bless

Damn, I was going to bring him as a guest.
Anybody who can make it to the meeting is welcome. I'm hoping to have a time and place worked out well in advance in order to allow those with a significant drive to have fair warning and be able to plan ahead.

Came up empty with Telerama. They plan on adding Mad Mex in Robinson, but according to their site it's not live yet. Any other ideas?

If people are willing to go north (Warrendale, near Cranberry), I can try to get a conference room at Marconi Communications. (I am contracting at Marconi, but "do" SDG Systems.) Let me know if you want me to check...
I hope to also be able to provide a demo of both the Pretec GPRS modem and Sprint 1xRTT modem (we sell the GPRS modem and support the software for the Sprint card for Sharp).

tblumer:
If you can get a conference room, set up a date. Probably best if it's after the holidays, in January some time.
I haven't seen anybody give a definitive Date/Time/Place. So, tblumer: "Tag, you're it!"

Hello from the Erie crowd! (ok, just me).
I am still interested in a January meeting and Cranberry location would be wonderful. Since the local Best Buy sold at least 6 of the 5500's in 2002, there may still be more of us up here. I will try to find and invite these others, too.

It sounds like the conference room here may work out, but I need to get a count of the number of people who will / may attend. The Marconi security policy requires the names of the attendees (none of you are terrorists, right?). If you'd like to move forward, let me know, and I'll start collecting attendee names at todd<at>sdgsystems.com.
Thanks.

Nice job on getting a locale together for the meeting. Keep us posted about a potential date when you get a chance.
