I installed irk on OZ-3.5.1 from the command line, then did ipkg-link. I wsan't getting any signs
of it in the keyboard menu, so I restarted OPIE, but all I got was a blank screen. I had to restart to the command line, do a ipkg remove irk, and then opie started fine.

got the same issue. got the irk src, tried to compile it but it's lookinf for some lirc header files...

look in other thread - the problem is that IRK segfaults without config...
