Alternate Syncing Methods for the Zaurus

There are several methods which one can use for syncing the Zaurus under Linux other than Qtopia Desktop. To date, these are:

KitchenSync: http://www.handhelds.org/~zecke/kitchensync.html

zaurus-sync: http://www.keffective.com/zaurus/

zsync: http://www.tjhsst.edu/~mcolyer/zsync/

zesync: http://sourceforge.net/projects/zesync/

multisync: http://multisync.sourceforge.net/

KitchenSync is a sync framework for KDE. It is supposed to sync anything in the future, but right now it is quite unstable and is liable to clobber your data, provided you can get it to work.

zaurus-sync is a set of scripts for syncing the Zaurus with the KDE PIM tools. It works reasonably well, but it does require you to install KOrganizer and use that instead of the built in tools.

zsync is a single script to sync the Zaurus with Evolution. It doesn't work very well, and also will only work with the stock Sharp ROM.

zesync is also a script to sync the Zaurus with Evolution, but it is no longer under development and the author suggests that you use multisync instead.

multisync is by far the best of the alternate sync methods right now. It supports several devices, and can sync any of them with any of them. It supports both the stock Sharp ROM and ROMs with OPIE quite well, and so far for me the syncing with Evolutions has been flawless.
