Bluetooth CF cards for the Zaurus
I am currently building up a list of working Bluetooth CF cards for the Zaurus. Feel free to add any findings of your own.
Below is a link to a list of cards that are supposed to work with the BlueZ drivers:
http://www.holtmann.org/linux/bluetooth/devices.html
Below is a list to a list of cards that are supposed to work with the Affix drivers: http://affix.sourceforge.net/hardware.shtml
However, not all seem to work on the Zaurus for various reasons. So below is a table of cards and whether they work or not on the Zaurus, sorted alphabetically by manufacturer.
| Card Vendor | Model/Revision | Chipset | Works with BlueZ? | Works with Affix? | Comments |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ambicom | BT2000E | Ericsson | Yes | ? | Hard to buy now |
| Ambicom | BT2000C | CSR | Yes | ? | The following option is needed for hciattach initialize this card: /dev/ttyS3 bt2000c flow. |
| Anycom | LSE039 | Ericsson | Yes | ? | |
| Anycom | LSE139 (CF-300) | Ericsson | Yes | ? | Updated version of LSE039 card. Supported by Cacko ROM 1.22 and above. |
| Armadillo | LSE039 | Ericsson | Yes | ? | Now known as the Blue Monkey card |
| Billionton | CFBT02-B | CSR | Yes | ? | The following option is needed for hciattach initialize this card: /dev/ttyS3 bcsp |
| Blue Monkey | LSE039 | Ericsson | Yes | ? | Rebranded Anycom card |
| Bluetake | BT100 | CSR | Yes | ? | Clone of the Dlink DCF650BT |
| Brain Boxes | BL-565 | CSR | ? | ? | Uses BCSP protocol |
| Belkin | F8T020 | CSR | Yes | ? | Uses BCSP protocol, requries kernel patches to serial driver to support baud rate 1000000. Supported by Cacko ROM 1.22 and above.
There is a replacement serial_cs.o available which works on Sharp 2.4.18 kernels. In addition, you may need to modify /etc/bluetooth/uart: copy the line that says "CF Card","GENERIC", and change "Card" to "CARD". |
| Dell | Truemobile 300 | CSR | Yes | ? | Same as Belkin. |
| D-Link | DCF650BT | CSR | Yes | ? | Requires an extra BlueZ package (See the Bluetooth BlueZ Howto) and for BlueZ, a line in /etc/bluetooth/uart exactly like this: "Bluetooth BT0100M", "", "":/dev/ttyS3 bcsp |
| Mavin | CSR | Yes | ? | Requires manual tweaking with BlueZ (Search the OESF Forums) | |
| Nokia | DTL-1 | Nokia | Yes | Yes | Discontinued by Nokia, but it become the Socket Rev E Card. Note this card only supports v1.0 of Bluetooth and cannot be upgraded; there are reports of problems with it. |
| Nokia | DTL-4 | Nokia | Yes | ? | Tested in Cacko 1.23b1 on SL-C3000. Uses the same driver as the DTL-1, so add in /etc/pcmcia/bluetooth.conf:card "Nokia Bluetooth Card" version "Nokia Mobile Phones", "DTL-4" bind "dtl1_cs" |
| Phillips | PH10495 | CSR | Yes | ? | Same as Belkin. |
| Pretec | BT2000E | Ericsson | Yes | ? | This is a rebranded Ambicom BT2000E
(also sold by Pretec as "CompactBT", model OC-BTEXX-A) |
| Sunderland | LSE039 | Ericsson | Yes | ? | Rebranded Anycom card |
| Socket Communications | Rev E/F | Nokia | Yes | Yes | Hard to buy now. Reported as having stability problems. Non-upgradeable firmware. See here for details of how to check the revision - it's the last letter on the top barcode on the CF card itself. |
| Socket Communications | Rev G/H | CSR | Yes | Yes | This is the model most places now stock. Requires an extra BlueZ package (See the Bluetooth BlueZ Howto) and has been reported as unstable with Affix. Does have upgradeable firmware - see Socket's website. |
| Socket Communications | Rev K | ? | Yes | ? | They have changed the chipset again, works beautifully with Cacko 1.23 |
| Socket Communications | Rev L | ? | Yes | ? | Tested using SL-C3200/Sharp ROM |
