There is alot of concern in the forums about what is 'safe' to use to power the C1000/C3x00 with. The purpose of this guide is to list power options that work successfully.
This article is very basic at the moment. Feel free to expand it by adding your experiences. It would also be good to have what works in Europe and other countries.

Sharp Adaptors
In North America, the most widely recommended adaptor is the EA-70s. This adaptor can be purchased in various places for about USD$30. Not the most cost-effective of adaptors.
The EA-72 controversy
The EA-72 is an adapter that Sharp sells with these units in Japan. Some Zaurus importers sell these as "North America Adapters". They are rated for 100V. There have been concerns that these units are not safe to use in North America with where power is 110-120V. Some anecdotal reports suggest these may cause damage to the Z's charging circuits.
However, some users in the forum have measured the voltage/current output, and found that it puts out a steady voltage/current that is comparable to what the EA-70s puts out. The EA-72 is apparently regulated, is fused, and seems to be within the tolerance of what the Z should be able to handle. - A company called FigLabs sold C3200 models with the PSP charger. Although it says in the manual that this Zaurus takes 3.2V, the charger is 5V, it seems to work fine.
Car/Mobile Chargers

If you look in eBay for the seller 'mrbuybits' ask him for the Car Cigarette Adapter that fits the Acer N35 Computer, these will work perfectly on the SL-C1000. The input to these adapters is: 5.42 Volts DC, I've had my SL-C1000 attached to these for days on end and no damage to the Z's charge circuit. You just have to cut off the fitting for the N35 and solder a 1.5mm power plug there on the end of that cable (the same as the type that fits the Z: + is centre, - is outer sleeve)

USB Chargers
Disclaimer: until more definitive information is available on powering the Cx000 via USB, try it at your own risk!
USB ports are spec'd to put out 500mA. The Cx000 needs around 800mA to charge the battery. So it's believed that a USB port may be fine for powering the Z, but not enough for charging the battery. Some have reported success with USB-PSP power cables, others have built home-grown cables
It's been postulated that drawing current from two usb ports, as some harddrives do, may be sufficient. No word if anyone has tried such a set up.
