Converting the Sharp ROM to English

This is a guide to how to get your Zaurus in a minimal state to start using English.

Install a terminal application. You will need to find a terminal ipk installation file; if you have a current Zaurus model then it should be on the CDROM that came with it, see Installing a Terminal.
Run the terminal.
$cd Settings
$vi locale.conf
Change lang=ja to lang=en : move the cursor to the "j" of ja, hit x twice; press i, type en
exit : hit cancel, enter ":wq"
Reboot : choose the menu option
