Using SDHC with Sharp/Cacko ROMs

  • The original Sharp ROM can only mount a 1GB SD card and will not mount SDHC; the Zaurus SL-C3200 came with a driver that could handle up to 4GB SD cards - this driver can also be used with the 3000 and 3100.
  • There is a sdmmc module for the Cacko ROM that will allow larger SD cards to be used, but not SDHC.
  • C-guys developed a SDIO driver that allowed 2GB SD cards to be used with the Sharp ROM. The scripts to automatically mount the device required some editing and even then cards needed. OESF Discussion

The Sharp driver can be found on the ROM at /lib/modules.rom/2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix/kernel/drivers/block/sharp_mmcsd_m.o (depending on which ROM you are using).

SDHC

bucchi has developed a SDHC driver to use cards of upto 32GB for all Zaurus. It patches the standard Sharp driver so the ROM must be reverted to the original state for the install to be successful.

The driver is in an ipk file to installation is performed by simply tapping the icon.
